Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences

Many students and teachers have communicated that inclement weather is indirectly causing a delay in the submission of references. As such, the deadline for submission of applications for the 2026 PGSS program has been extended to Friday February 6 by 11:59pm (EST). Please note that no additional extensions will be made and all application materials, including references, must be submitted by this date and time.

What is PGSS?

The Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences (PGSS) is a rigorous, highly selective, free summer enrichment opportunity focused on science. The program provides instruction in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and more. For more details, visit our website.

Who Can Apply?

You may apply to PGSS if you are a current high school junior and at least one of your parents (or legal guardians) has a primary, full-time residence in Pennsylvania.
